Bizarre & Scary Halloween StoriesĀ

10/27/2016

Let's take a look at some bizarre and scary stories to pass along to your kids and neighbors this year.
As Halloween approaches, families all over are preparing their houses for the time-honored tradition of spooking trick-or-treaters. Along with the candy consumption, Halloween brings some really spooky, crazy stories.

Let's take a look at some bizarre and scary stories to pass along to your kids and neighbors this year.

Legendary haunted hotels
Haunted houses and hotels hold some of the scariest stories, making them the perfect place to visit around Halloween. Pop Sugar, a website devoted to news and blogs on pop culture, lists several legendary scary buildings, including the following two:
  • The Stanley Hotel: Located in Colorado, this hotel was the setting for the epic novel and movie, "The Shining." Do not let its place in fiction fool you though, as many stories are believed as facts by many. In one story, a woman died in the early 1900s, but has been seen in the past 10 years walking around the building.
  • Knickerbocker Hotel: This 130-year-old hotel in Pennsylvania has countless spooky stories under its belt. One of the creepiest is an incident in which a woman and her grandchild witnessed an apparition in the bathroom, and were then told they were the only two people in the hotel.

Creepy tales for Halloween
About Entertainment, a popular online publication, lists several true tales of ghost sightings shared by contributors.

One story shares a tale of a group of friends who wanted to see for themselves whether or not a local haunting was fact or fiction.

If you would like to tell some more stories this Halloween, check out this American Folklore list, which gives you stories ranging in terror and fright so you do not scare the children too much but send chills through the adults.

To set the mood for your Halloween party, put on Spotify's playlist of scary Halloween stories. Listen at your own risk!

Have a safe and happy Halloween!
