Connections

6/26/2017

Facebook has friends. Twitter has followers. LinkedIn, on the other hand, has connections.

Without plenty of connections, your LinkedIn profile won't be able as competitive as it could be. Don't believe it? The average CEO has 930 connections. For most people, their connections are made up of a few old coworkers and a lot of high school and college classmates, but growing your network means thinking outside the box. These tips can help you expand your reach, attract influencers, and position your profile as a leader in your area:

  • Engage with connections, like commenting on their posts and providing feedback on their updates
  • Personalize all connection requests with information about how you know one another or why you want to connect
  • Link your LinkedIn profile to your email signature and your website
  • Participate in groups
  • Add plenty of keywords to your profile so you are easily searchable
