3 Spring-Themed Marketing Tips
With spring in full swing, it can be savvy to incorporate it into your marketing plan. The specifics of your strategy will of course vary based on the nature of your company and your industry. But there are some general approaches that can serve as jumping-off points for your spring marketing campaign. We'll take a look at a few of them below:

Invoke sustainability & Earth Day
Earth Day (April 22) is very important to those passionate about sustainability and conservation. You can jazz up your spring marketing with an Earth Day-themed campaign.

Doing so has shown considerable success, as happened when the Smithsonian National Zoological Park collaborated with rock band Portugal the Man to create a song for the holiday. According to Doz, a marketing solutions and research firm, the song, which centered around protecting the endangered Sumatran tiger, went viral and got 171,000 views from its posting on just four YouTube accounts. It also reached millions via SoundCloud, social media shares and coverage in news outlets from The Washington Post to Rolling Stone.

While, your business might not have the resources to write and record a song, you've got plenty of other options. Campaign, a marketing communications industry publication, noted that Earth Day-focused tweets, Facebook posts, blog entries and infographics have all been used by major brands. If your company incorporates sustainability or environmentally friendly benefits in its operations, product or services be sure to include it in your marketing message.

Focus on the best part of tax season
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) tax filing deadline is, by and large, a meticulous but necessary experience. However, everyone likes getting that refund from the federal and state government, and your marketing team can capitalize on this.

According to Nancy Wagner, a reporter for the Houston Chronicle newspaper's small-business section, offering a discount on products and services in the time span just before and after the filing deadline can boost sales. Doing so is a customer-centric marketing choice that could bolster brand loyalty along with revenue.

Incorporate themes of renewal, organizing & cleaning
Because spring is highlighted by new leaves on trees and the growth of crops, people's minds naturally turn toward renewal. From a marketing perspective, this is a golden opportunity. Small Business Trends, a provider of business and financial news, recommends marketing teams use this time of year to launch a branding overhaul. That may entail changing your logo or redesigning your website. More simply, you can time a new product or service release for April and May and employ the same thematic hook.

You can also apply the theme of "spring cleaning" to your inventory. This may mean selling off less-popular items at highly liquidated rates, which can prompt sales you wouldn't otherwise make. Finally, marketing solutions startup FiveStars suggests on its blog that if you're renovating or remodeling a brick-and-mortar store, a discount associated with this effort can be successful, further stressing the idea of being out with the old and in with the new.
