Accepting Mobile Payments

Utilizing Mobile Payment Systems
Emails are read on phones, websites are browsed on phones, and you can even check into a flight from your phone. If a phone provides all this access, it is no surprise that more and more consumers want to make mobile payments.

Small businesses are responding to this demand. Mobile payments allow for employees to make themselves more accessible to customers by eliminating the physical constraints of where the checkout counter needs to be. Customers paying with a card have the freedom to check out wherever an employee might be. A business can use mobile payments by providing credit card readers that can attach to employee’s cellphones, or investing in a system that scans a customer’s phone if they are using payment tools such as Apple or Samsung pay.

A mobile payment tool can be set up like a cash register. But it scans a phone,  similar to a barcode on food items a grocery store scanner reads. This system offers less employee mobility, yet it still offers customers the ease of paying with their phones rather than digging for their cards or cash.

There are various technologies to utilize either one of these payment methods, and some even offer both options. Brands like Square and Clover have launched since the rise in mobile payments. These firms provide a variety of devices that can cater to the particular needs of any business. Customer-trusted PayPal has taken a leap into the mobile payment world, and now offers a variety of devices to suite a business’s needs.

To start accepting mobile payments of your own, see if any of these three platforms can help. They each offer card readers and packages that will fit your type of business and your size of business best. Square, Clover, and PayPal all have their own cloud based apps that provide book-keeping. The apps track every customer purchase, help virtually manage inventory, and allow you to view this data from any device with the app.

Depending on how quickly your company is growing, or the specific needs of your customers, this could be something worth looking into. Each payment device offers something different and that just might be the tool you are looking for.  It is important to note that using one of these systems comes at a small price. Each system takes a small percentage of each transaction. Mobile pay is an investment that could really pay off for  your business.
